Please understand that this is the Warringah Junior Representative team and that not all kids can be selected. Some kids will miss out, this is not the end of their career nor does it mean that they will not be selected in future years.<\/p>\n
As a selector, we are looking for a number of skills that will be needed to build a good team.<\/p>\n
Open training sessions should be used as an opportunity for all players and coaches in the selected age groups to have the chance to train and improve their skills while learning the base of how their team will play at the State Championships. These sessions are for everyone and will give coaches the chance to watch all players and assist in their development.<\/p>\n
Coaches throughout the all squad training period should give each player an update on what they should be working on and what areas they are inefficient in.<\/p>\n
PLEASE NOTE: Attending these sessions does not have guarantee selection nor is attendance a pre-requisite. The development you will receive will give each player a better chance of being picked and the chance to be consistently seen but it will not be used as a point score for final selection.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Coaches should use the below opportunities to select players:<\/p>\n
From the above attributes, the coaches will select the nominated number of players plus shadow players that will be invited to all trainings but will not travel to the State Championships unless needed.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
Before State Championships WJRU VP to arrange briefing meeting with Coaches, Managers and resolve any issues.<\/p>\n<\/div>
The team selection committee should comprise of the head coach and the assistant coaches.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
The Head Coach will ensure that the selection process is carried out in a fair manner.<\/p>\n
This will include:<\/p>\n
Notice of the selected Team will be emailed by the WJRU VP to each squad member.<\/p>\n
An email will be sent in three categories<\/p>\n
Players details, and selection information is to be sent to the WJRU VP by the designated date.<\/p>\n
All non-selected players should be personally contacted by the Head Coach and given feedback as to what areas they need to improve and to encourage the opportunity for next season.<\/p>\n
Each player selected, and his Parents \/ Guardians shall complete a Letter of Understanding and Commitment confirming their selection in the team. This will be sent and collected by the WJRU VP.<\/p>\n
All players in the selected Team will play in all trials and will be included in the squad for the first competitive match unless injured.<\/p>\n
Selectors will have available a template to be used to aid them in the selection process. It is imperative that the selection process be fair and transparent.<\/p>\n<\/div>
All selected players will be required to pay a registration fee. Each player and staff will receive gear, typically including:<\/p>\n
Additional gear will also be made available for a cost.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
